Stacking space for aluminum blinds is minimal; a 6' blind stacks to less than 6" fully raised.

More expensive than aluminum blinds, the best wood blinds are made of natural American hardwoods such as ash cherry, oak, basswood, or maple as well as pine, and are kiln-dried to prevent warping, splitting, or twisting.
