Decorative Drapery Rods:
Kirsch, Blome, Robat, Alev, Final 10, Brimar, Graber, Paris, Lafayette , Iron Art.
Custom draperies, curtains and top trearments are usually
installed on drapery rods. Some of the more popular types
of rods are decorative wood or metal
poles, traversing rods, sash rods, café rods, and
pivoting rods. These rods are available in a variety
of finishes: painted, stained, gilded in gold, silver
and other metallic finishes and textures to enhance your
decorating style. Artfully crafted, designs can range
from formal and elegant to relaxed and casual. Hand-forged
iron rods are also available in all types and with decorative
coordinating brackets, finials and
holdbacks. Artisans continue to do creative and
amazing things with iron, shaping and fashioning rods
to resemble branches with coordinating twig brackets,
grape leaf finials, and knotted loops of vine rings. Available
in natural, patinated bronze, and verdigris finishes,
these hardware items are works of art and are sure to
capture attention.
Finials embellish the ends of drapery rods and often
are the only decorative hardware exposed after curtains
and draperies are shirred on the rod. Rod
finials are available in a variety styles and organic
motifs like acorn, pineapple, leaf,
scroll, stained glass, or blown glass etc. to accentuate
your window dressing. Brackets support drapery rods at
each end, and on especially long rods, in the center as
well, and are available in all the same styles and finishes
as rods. Rosettes embellish brackets by adding panache
and style to the face of a bracket. Drapery rings are
hooked or sewn onto curtain or drapery headings then placed
on a rod allowing fabric panels to move back and forth
(open and close) freely on the rod.
Tiebacks or holdbacks are
the easiest components to incorporate into any décor.
These fixed, decorative accessories are mounted on the
wall to secure curtains or drapery panels away from the
door or window. They are also used to hang scarf swags
to go over blinds or shades to soften up the look.
